Fortis Healthcare is divesting its Fortis Malar Hospital in Chennai to MGM Healthcare for Rs 128 crores. The transaction is expected to be consummated by the end of January 2024. The divestment is part of Fortis’ ongoing portfolio rationalization strategy. The Fortis Malar Hospital is a 140-bed facility that has been facing certain legacy issues. MGM Healthcare plans to restore and advance the Malar Hospital to its original glory. The acquisition will bring MGM Healthcare’s total bed count in Chennai to approximately 800 beds. By Coshorts
