ASenate subcommittee is investigating Live Nation/Ticketmaster for mishandling concert ticket sales, like for Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen shows. The subcommittee says Ticketmaster’s dominance in ticketing harms consumers through high prices and fees. Ticketmaster claims it’s cooperated but can’t provide sensitive client data the subcommittee requests. The subcommittee believes breaking up the Live Nation-Ticketmaster merger may be necessary to restore competition.
