At $4.16 trillion, India beats top 10 markets with 25% gain in valuation this year

India maintained its fifth position globally with a market capitalization of $4.16 trillion, making it the fifth most valuable market. Indian equities outperformed the top 10 global markets this year, thanks to strong macroeconomic fundamentals and investments from foreign and domestic institutional investors.

Despite challenges like higher interest rates, geopolitical tensions, and volatile crude oil prices, the Indian economy saw a 24.8% surge in market capitalization, the sharpest rise since 2021 and the fifth consecutive year of growth. In comparison, the US market rallied with a 22.61% expansion, while China’s market fell by 8.81% due to a property crunch and slow recovery from Covid-19. Tap for more at Moneycontrol
